Ruils to launch Wandsworth Disabled People’s Forum

Thanks to generous funding from the Wandsworth Grant Fund, Ruils is set to launch a new Forum for Disabled people living in Wandsworth. This forum will run alongside Ruils’ provision of the Direct Payments support service in Wandsworth, which supports over 600 people to access care on their terms and maintain their independence.

The Wandsworth Disabled People’s Forum will be a dedicated space for Disabled people to share their views, develop their coproduction skills, feed into the wider Disabled People’s Movement and begin to effect change. Crucially, the forum will be led by and for the members of the group through a steering committee.

We are holding an initial consultation to make sure that the views and ideas of local Disabled people are at the heart of the group. A survey has been launched, which can be completed in a variety of formats:

If you need any support completing the survey or sharing your views, please let our team know. It is really important to us that everyone who wants to can contribute.

The survey deadline is Friday 6th June.

In addition to the survey, we plan to host a launch event and workshop so people can share their ideas and coproduce the set-up of the group in person. The workshop is likely to happen in late June 2025.

If you’d like to get involved or have ideas you’d like to share outside of the survey, please get in touch with Hallie Banish, Ruils Campaigns and Communications Manager – halliebanish@ruils.co.uk or 07908 616082
