Ruils to host Richmond Borough Hustings

Created: 01/07/2024

In light of the impending election, we are hosting a Hustings on issues impacting Deaf and Disabled people in Richmond Borough, specifically SEND, health and social care and housing.

The Hustings will be held on Monday 24th June 2024 from 2-4pm at the Masonic Centre in Twickenham.

We are planning to run one event before the election, so we are inviting each party to send 1 candidate to attend to speak on their party’s platform on disability issues. This is our Disabled People’s Organisation Manifesto, which we are asking candidates to commit to.

We are asking candidates to prepare an opening statement and then we will cover the following topics:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
  • Health and Social Care
  • Housing

There will be space for you to ask questions and you will be able to submit your questions ahead of time through the booking form.

Space is limited and booking is essential. If you need support to book your ticket please call 020 8831 6083.

Please let us know of any access needs in the booking form. The venue is wheelchair accessible. There will be BSL interpreters – please indicate if you need this. There is a car park on site with disabled parking.
