What we are looking for
Whilst no specific experience is required, we are looking for candidates who:
- Are confident and good at public speaking
- Feel comfortable supporting a group of volunteers
- Feel comfortable being the main point of contact with the school
- Are able to lead 2 sessions per month, minimum
- Have lived experience of Disability
- Have experience working with children or young people, in a voluntary or paid capacity
- Are able to travel to schools within the Richmond Borough or SW London (expenses are covered)
- Have some tech experience, training provided
What will I be doing?
This will be:
- Learning the curriculum for the Secondary Schools programme
- Leading sessions in schools with support of assistants
- Helping set up and organise activities and materials
- Discussing and answering questions about your Disability while maintaining appropriate boundaries
How will Ruils support you?
We will provide you with onboarding training, safeguarding training and ongoing support throughout your time volunteering with us. This includes regular check ins over the phone and in person support sessions and trainings open to all volunteers.
