Democratic Rights Drop-in

Date: Thursday 30th January 2025

Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Location: The DAAC, 4 Waldegrave Road, Teddington TW11 8RF

This year, eligible Londoners have taken part in two major elections – the Mayor of London and London Assembly Elections in May and the General Election in July. Though the ballots have been cast and counted, the work to strengthen our democracy is not over yet. Democracy doesn’t end at the ballot box – it relies on continuous and informed engagement, particularly as we navigate the post-election landscape.

Join us for a drop in session at the Ruils office to learn more about your democratic rights, register to vote and get the right voter ID.

We will also have our Wellbeing Coordinators on site providing free basic health checks and there will be free food.

This event is a drop-in so no registration needed.

3. A hand putting a ballot paper into a ballot box with the text “democratic rights include: registering to vote, if eligible, voting in local, regional and national elections, taking part in deliberative and participatory democracy, standing for elected office”.

Community Organising Training with Citizens UK

Date: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Time: 2:30 – 5:00 pm

Location: The DAAC, 4 Waldegrave Road, Teddington TW11 8RF

Community organising is about bringing people together to win change. This means building community-led solutions to big and small problems, that work for everyone.

We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them and together, we put the power back into people’s hands to hold those responsible to account.

We are partnering with Citizens UK to deliver a training on community organising to help you understand how it works and make change happen.

More details to come soon.
