Short Breaks Funding from AfC
Why might it be of interest?
If you live in LB Richmond or RB Kingston you can apply for up to £140 per financial year towards funding for a short breaks activity for your young person. The young person must be under 18 and have a disability (which can be demonstrated in a few ways – see the website page).
It is very specific that the funding must be used for a leisure or social activity for a young person to enjoy. The web page lists things it cannot be used for. It all seems to be quite clear.
Funding applications for each financial year are usually open until around the end of February with the money needing to be used by the end of March.
Additionally, there are links to other short breaks schemes and additional funding.
All local authorities have a local offer which should include this sort of information so if you are in another local authority you should still be able to find out what your LA offers.
