We’re delighted to celebrate the publication of Volume 2 of the Ruils Creative Writing Anthology, a heartfelt collection that captures the creativity, warmth and connection at the centre of the Ruils Creative Writing Group.

The group meets every Monday in a small, welcoming space at Richmond Age UK in Twickenham. Over time, the group has grown into more than a writing session. It has become a close-knit community where people listen to one another, encourage each other and celebrate each contribution.

Each month brings new themes through a newsletter, prompting a rich variety of prose and poetry. In March, for example, writers explored ideas such as royalty, heroism, Marble Hill, drama and history, producing work that was imaginative, thoughtful and deeply personal.

The group has also begun to share its voice more widely. Last year it was shortlisted as one of the final four in the Richmond Community Heroes Project of the Year Award.  Recently members did a live reading of their work at a local café was such a success that the writers have been invited back to perform again.

This anthology offers a small but meaningful glimpse into the talent, commitment and spirit of the group. It reflects not only the writing itself, but also the friendships, encouragement and quiet confidence that grow week by week — all over cups of tea, shared biscuits and a love of words.
