Hounslow Care Providers by Locality

Why might it be of interest?

I am often asked for lists of care providers and housing providers who work locally.  This is a list given to me by a local authority source.  It is not necessarily a comprehensive list but these are providers working in LB Hounslow.

If you are considering parent commissioning supported living for your young person you will need to make contact with a few of each as it will be the parents involved who agree which agencies they will work with.

You don’t have to go with local agencies or ones who already work in this area or for this local authority.  However, I do think, in most cases, working with agencies who are familiar with the local area is likely to be a better option than going with an agency who are quite new to the area.  It is, of course, your choice but if you go further afield ideally the agency does need to be offering something of importance to you and your young person that local agencies are not.

In my experience housing and care providers seem to work to much the same format and are geared up to working together.  So who you choose to work with will probably be more down to the relationship you feel you can build with the provider rather than how the service is run – but that might not be true in all cases.

You can google and find other providers who either work in this area or nearby and who might be willing to work in this area.  There is no reason why you shouldn’t approach a provider directly and some adult social care services will simply give you a list of providers and leave you to get in touch.

Providers may seem reluctant to spend too much time talking to you unless it is certain that your young person will come with funding for a place in their provision.  This can only be certain once adult social care have carried out an assessment of their needs but for some of our young people their needs are of a high enough level that it is not really in doubt that they will have a suitable care package.  This might be more tricky for young people where it’s hard to say what the package might look like.

We have another, more recent, document about care providers working in Hounslow in the Independent Living folder.
