Accessible Activities during May Half-term

Our FriendBee service is running a range of accessible sessions for young people with SEND over the upcoming May Half Term. Find out more and book your young person’s space below!

 

FriendBee and BuddyUP Zootropolis Craft & Movie Session

Come and enjoy getting creative with lots of Zootropolis themed craft activities, whilst we also enjoy watching the Zootropolis 2 movie and enjoy a popcorn snack! Parents/carers are welcome to stay or if your young person is comfortable, you are welcome to go and have a break, but we ask that you stay local in case we need you. We are unable to offer 1-1 support to young people during this group, but there will be 3 members of staff available to support the group.

Date: Tuesday 26th May

Time: 2-4pm

Location: Disability Action and Advice Centre, 4 Waldegrave Road, Teddington TW11 8HT

Ages: 10-18

FriendBee Accessible Walk and Picnic

Let’s stroll together and enjoy the outdoors at the FriendBee Accessible Walk – a perfect way to unwind, connect with nature and others. After, if the weather allows, we will enjoy a picnic. Please bring your own food and a blanket to sit on if needed. A carer must be present for this activity. 

Date: Friday 29th May

Time: 11am – 12:30pm

Location: The Pheasantry in Bushy Park

Ages: all ages

Cooking Up Session (ages 10-15)

This session is chance to practice cooking skills in a safe, accessible environment. The session costs £15 and all ingredients are provided (they can cater for dietary requirements too). Each young person will be allocated a volunteer however; a carer must also be present for the session. Please be aware that there will be equipment including sharp knives and hot plates at the session. The session is wheelchair accessible, however the tables are not adjustable. There are only 4 spaces for this session.

Date: Wednesday 27th May

Time: 11am – 12:30pm

Location: Ham Youth Centre

Ages: 10-15

Cost: £15
