Disability Awareness Workshops

Developed and delivered by our fully trained volunteers who have years of experience of living with a physical or learning disability, these courses will give your students insight and understanding into what it is like to live with a disability.

We offer 3 sessions which we can tailor to your requirements. All of the sessions are fun and interactive and challenging.
Key Stage 1: Through discussion and games we introduce the children to what it is like to have a disability.
Key Stage 2: Interactive session gives children a greater understanding of the barriers that disabled people face.
Years 5 & 6: Explores discrimination, challenging stereotypes and the best ways to approach or assist an individual with a disability.

Each session will last about an hour to an hour and a half depending on how many children attend and the age group that we are focusing on. It is delivered by a minimum of 3 presenters who each have different impairments including a learning disability.

To book your session - download our Booking Form and email it to Amanda our Schools Coordinator amandawinterburn@yahoo.co.uk or call 020 8831 6083 for more information.

These sessions are FREE. We do however ask that you undertake a fundraising activity with your students e.g. a Mufti Day, Cake Sale or take part in our 5p Challenge.

"It taught the boys a great deal about the different types of disability and how they affect people. Answered all the boys' questions fully. It was brilliant.
I would definitely recommend this workshop to other schools"
